Final animation

Ideas of Transitions

When done with movements of my animation, looking at the website of
http://vimeo.com/album/2270016/video/7440725
and trying to understand the idea of movements and between transitions. Having black transition in between scenes shows a curtain amount of time had gone by.

Understanding how it works more when talking after with the tutor that never do cartoon circles to make time pass as it is really cartoony and doesnt work with my animation as I had tried to do different time passing.

While watching the video, the part for Framing for first and last gave more insight on how things work where they are important to make a starting and the  ending looking good and work well as a whole as a starter and a closer for your story animation. So I will be doing a fade in black to my animation at the start, and than when it comes to the end of the animation, I would make it slowly fade away to black.

Movements between and while happening in one keyframe helped me learn a bit more where from the starting of the key frame to the ending of it, generating other movements can create time and idea of how the atmosphere is like. Instead of making it really point A to B, little movements helps a lot.
So in my animation, I had tried to apply that in parts of my key frames to give a nicer effect to it.

  • What did my research reveal about my chosen rhyme?
  • What are my opinions on the "popular" interpretations?
  • How have I interpreted the rhyme into a modern context?
  • Why have I chosen to tell it this way? Do I want people to learn? Or be entertained? Or take another message away?
  • Why have I chosen ___ style (for both character and font)?
  • Why have I chosen ____ music?

From my research, I had revealed that even though it is placed in the setting of the 15th century in England, it is still well known for children's to sing it.
The idea of the rhyme was to tell the idea of clumsilyness, how an egg which is round sitting on a wall where as well all know that circle/round objects cannt be still of flat uneven surfaces. So as in the result, the egg falls and was broken.
Sad news spreads, so the idea of people wanting to help and get the good to be fixed but it was not successful at the end.
From research, the idea of the rhyme was about a cannon where it hit a wall which made everything gone for people to see. A peaceful area became an dangerous sad past area without the well known wall there. Tragedy event happened that couldn't be helped or done about. Protection on trying to help to put the wall back together again to make it normal and not disappear but failed to happen.

With my animation, I have made it sad and playful to easy to understand into a modern context where the unexspected can happen to close family when they trying to protect you over something really dangerous.
With the rhyme being a really sad meaning behind, I had went along with the sad and family connection saving each other  but than gave it a mini twist to the end where something isn't always need to be a bad and sad ending.
The idea of having someone lost away doesn't mean that life is the end, its a journey where you will have to see for yourself. A life you never expected to know.

For my story line, I wanted to make it a nice children educational way of understanding how parents are always there to help and protect you even when death have to occur. The idea of protection being really strong with mother and child, I had made it into an animal themed where its rear to see them out in the open. Just giving a little twist as this will never happen in real life where a mother is shot for just the baby in the wild.
Having to let the viewer know as well that life is sad sometimes, but life will still need to be continued on where you can enjoy life even loved one is away.

My style idea for my animation is to be bright and happy where it is really fun and enjoyable to watch while understanding the unexpected changes life where you never know what will happen like how the wall of Humpty being crushed down by a cannon.  The typography is in the font of lumparsky where it shows a scruffy edgy feeling where it is shown and incorporated with the animation surrounding and movement. First text seen was when the baby was captured and been placed in a box behind a truck. A sticker lable was to show us that where it is going tobe taken to. Which i have grab the Kings and the Humpty Dumpty words in there. And the second area was the cage sigh which is outside of the cage where the baby was placed.

The idea behind the music was to just have a sad music background where it up lifted a little at the end. I had tried many other music which is dangerous  for the starting which doesnt lead up well with the music I had in mind when thinking of my animation. So I had made it really simple with just minor sound effects for the starting to make it simple and then when it comes to the middle part of the sad taken away part, the music started to form up where its just the music in the background and not other sound effects are needed.

Draft Animation

As you can see right now, my rendered movie isnt up on here. I have tried many many times and even for my animatics too that the movie file would not upload on blogger. Un-sure of the reason so I had included the links to youtube where I had posted up my improvements during my animation stage.

Music and Sounds

When looking at my animation, I image sounds to go with it to see what might work and what part might need sound effects at all.
Looking at the ICD sound section, I found some really nice sound effects like the shot of the mother panda, truck moving away, and the door slamming. I then went to google to try to find some free sound effects which arent copyrighted and are able to download. I found few of the rest of my sound effects and music from sound clouds and freeSFX where i joined in for.
